Pre Orders are Sweet!
Last week was a fabulous week in the blog world.
Wendy gave us a peek at her new releases, a little bit each day, and this is the one I fell for.
The stars remind me of the ones my SIL has in her Willow Tree nativity set.
They make my heart smile.
And of course the phrases are all about empowerment.
That made this set a no-brainer for me.
And of course I like this one, too
It's all about the backgrounds with this one, baby.
Well, no sooner than I decided I had to ask Timi and Nancy to get these for me,
they announced their Pre-Order Deal.
Put a $10 down payment on the new sets you like from Tim Holtz and Wendy Vecchi and when they come in, you'll get those sets for 25% off retail.
I like deals.
And I bet you do too.
So call For Keeps Sake and reserve a few sets for yourself. But do it by this Friday.

New Silhouette
So I finally did what many of you have been asking me to do.
No, it's not blog more.
But I have been doing that!
Sort of.
Anyway, what I have done is design a class around using the Silhouette die cutting machine.
In this class we will go over all of the basic functions the latest software will do.
And let me tell you, it is a lot!
I just love all of the new ways I can create with the Silhouette.
My imagination is the limit.
But this class is different than the other beginning class I have taught.
For one thing, it's designed around a new program--Silhouette Studio.
For another thing, we will be cutting images out in class.
And we will be using the print and cut option in class.
That means you get to learn more.
Class is at For Keeps Sake on Jan 29 from 1-3 and is only $20.
Please call 314-487-8131 to sign up.
You will need to bring your Silhouette machine and tools, a laptop with the latest Silhouette software already loaded onto it, detail scissors and adhesive.

Quick Cards
Here are just a couple of quick cards I made awhile ago using limited supplies.
The poinsettia card uses only one set of stamps-Studio 490, make it merry? (I would go find out for you, but my handsome cat is currently lounging across my lap!)
The snowflake card was made using the negative from a sheet of grunge snowflakes as a mask for the perfect pearls spray.
And the stamp is an old one from Stampin Up.
They were quick.
They were easy.
Merry Christmas!

So In Love
Here is the finished wall hanging I made for my recently engaged brother and his fiancee.
And I'm happy to report that they loved it.
I used a page out of a grungeboard book for the base and inked it with tumbled glass, broken china & brushed corduroy. Then I used the negative of a Tim Holtz mask for the broken china swirl behind the photo.
The grungeboard wings were inked with wild honey, rusty hinge & vintage photo.
The Maya Road & grunge words were inked with aged mahogany, painted with rick candy distress & reinked with brushed cordury.
The metal charms were courtesy of my friend Muffy. I filled the dangly hearts with UTEE and dropped the stamped phrase into it before it fully set. (The picture for that will be in another post because my phone won't publish two photos this time.)
And it was all glued together with 3in1 glue.
Enjoy!
